LTCL Graduation 2011

It's time to blog back...after so many months being MIA!!!

Although my graduation was in September and I'm 3 months due for this post...but better late than never. HEHEHE :P

My licentiate exam was in June this year and right after the exam in the morning, I fell sick. Hehe. I think that's very common for those who over stresses him or herself out before the exam. I didn't had a good sleep the night before the exam and screw up some parts during my playing. Thank God I still managed to do well in it overall although I was so worried and was telling Estee that I did badly. I was so nervous when the result came to the house and my heart was bik bok bik bok-ing so fast when I open my result slip.

Anyway, cut things short and talking about the day of my graduation with photos...

The graduation was held at Subang Grand Dorsett on the 16th September 2011.

First...must introduce my parents who flew down from Kuching for my graduation. A photo taken with my dad and my step mom...(my cousin said we all look alike in facebook...and I think it's a good thing) :D Anyway...I love my parents very much as I know and feel that they always do their best to provide whatever I need in my life and make sure I'm fine despite being far from them now. Can feel that they are "spoiling" me also by the things they do and all the gifts they've given me...but as long as I don't "spoil" myself and taking them for granted, it's still fine. :)

So far Estee met my dad before...and Rocky managed to met both my parents on my graduation. :D

Thank you, Rocky... for coming to my graduation. Although Estee and Casey couldn't make it...thank you for the graduation present. I love the Zee Avi's Ghostbird CD album...and my favorite song is the Bahasa Sarawak song..."Siboh Kitak Nangis". Our Bahasa Sarawak is a bit different from Bahasa Melayu. Siboh means Don't...Kitak means You...Nangis means Cry (same with Malay word). So the title is "Don't You Cry". It's a very comforting and relaxing song. Keat has been listening to this song over and over with me in the car for the few days after I got the CD while i set this song as Repeat. Hahaha...

Next, I have to extend my gratitude to my piano teacher, Sarah Yan...for her guidance and teachings on my piano skills in order for me to do well in my exam. My piano teacher teaches in Yamaha school too and I was recommended to go to her by her brother who worked together with me in Talent Makers at SS2, the first music school I worked with.

Keat shared my happiness on that day. He's so happy that I finally finished my exam and graduated because he'd been telling me that my stress level was influencing him as well. :P

And this is our Siu Mai...

Too bad this siu mai cannot be eaten....but this siu mai need to be sayang by us. Hehehe. Thanks to her for taking all the photos on that day!

Keat wants to show his talent with the scroll...

Hik hiakk....watchaaaa...Haaaiikkk....

A Danish-Indian Wedding

During my dad was down to KL 2 weeks ago...I attended a wedding dinner with him at Sheraton Imperial Hotel. It was his Danish friend's nephew who got married.

I've attended many Chinese weddings before...with 30-50 tables...also with the awful karaokes and delicious suckling pig. So, this is the first time I attend a danish-indian wedding...but mainly following the danish culture.

I had to go to the ladies...and since there was no one in there..i camwhored with the mirror. :P I hardly camwhore...so, appreciate this photo for once please? Hahaha...

The dress I wore was given by my dad like say...2-3 yrs ago. It's the 2nd time I wore it and the 1st time I wore it OUT from my house. :D

We had cocktail session for about an hour...and when the bride and bridegroom came...we had to throw these rice with heart shapes on them. They said the harder we throw, the more luck and happiness will befall on them. LOL.

The ambiance is different from a chinese wedding. It's much smaller...with around 20 tables...not round, but square..and some tables have only 2 person on it. European weddings are kept small and 'intimate'. :D

First time i see wedding cake which is pink and red in colour @.@

Our table....

The menu.....

I was impressed with the food. It's not heavy...and it's juuuuustttt nice for the stomach.

I'm sure Casey won't be satisfied with the food portion though. :P

Italian bread as a starter

1st...is the appetizer..

Honey cured Salmon with Basil air foam,
Buffalo mozzarella cheese with semi dried tomato, olive oil,
and
Deep fried oyster with tomato salsa.

Next is the main dish...

My dad's dish was
Braised beef short rib on Yellow polenta, micro cress and green asparagus

and I had
Roasted cod fish fresh basil sause, vegetable caponata and Fennel tomato salsa

Cody...i'm eating you :D
Fish...i'm eating you :D

Lastly, the desserts..

Villa Danieli's Tiramisu with tiramisu chocolate sticks,
Strawberry tartlet and
Citrus profiterole

They all look so round & cute on the long plate..

The Danish's way of saying Yam Seng like in the Chinese wedding...is "Skoal". So..it's very unusual for us to say "Skooooooooooooaaaaaallllllllllllllllllll" instead.

And another culture in Danish's wedding is the family members of the bridegroom will cut off his socks with a scissor which he's wearing. @.@ Very unusual....and when the Host asked what's the reason behind it..they can't answer though. So...there's the power of Google. And this is what I found: "The groom's socks are cut off at the toes or the end of his tie is cut off. It is said that this is so that the bride will have to prove that she can sew!"... -___-"

Another culture during the wedding which amused me was when the guests bang on their plates with their knife or fork, the wedding couple have to climb onto their chairs and kiss! That was very funny~~ Well, I found out that there's another culture, which we didn't practice it that night. It's when the guests stamp their feet, the pair have to kiss under the table. LOL~ Interesting, ain't it? :D

And this is their Danish cake...
Actually it looks like a Volcano :P
with flags on it..haha..so cute~

This is an example from the internet....

We can't find it in Malaysia's bakery shop...
so they made it by themselves...
and put Denmark and Malaysia flag on it...
HAHA...

Want a bite? :D

It's very sweet....made from sugar + almonds.

BTW...how's everyone doing with their lives?
I know it seems that no one is actually following the terms of once a month post anymore in this blog...
But I do hope someone do post up something soon. :D
Miss you guyss....
And i'll be back to Kuching next month..so see you all soon~!

Sneak Peak on KP's marriage registration 11-11-2009

First of all..congratulations to KP for becoming Mrs. Ling. :P She claims that she feels old when I asked her what's her feeling. -_- OLDDD....old when you're married~? Then what about us not yet married yet OLDER THAN YOU!? :P Lagi KNS right the feeling? HAHA~

Secondly...thanks for asking me to be one of witness for your marriage. It's my privilege to have my name on your marriage certificate. :)

Thirdly...because of this, I know how to drive to Cheras already..hahahahaha. :D I LEVELED UP! Kuakuakua~ xD Was so worried I couldn't wake up in time for your registration at 8:30 a.m. Luckily Federal Highway was in 'good mood' that morning though Sprint Highway was a little bit 'moody'. :P

Bride on the phone...

KP: *Hee hee hee*
Sylvia: *Snap photo*

Estee & Koh Ping...

Me with Koh Ping....

We feel quite bad wearing jeans for your marriage registration.
Didn't know it wasn't that proper as it's our 1st time attending such occasion xD

Mr. & Soon-to-be Mrs. Ling waiting for the documents to be ready...

In THE ROOM...

Getting ready to sign the papers..

Estee and me was like "whoah" with the decorations in the room.
-_-" 1st, too many mixture of colours..2nd, very malay style.
They should change theme for chinese couples~!

Before signing the papers...there's the part with "I do"...but it's in Malay, which is "Saya setuju". Funny part was Francis said "Ya" or "Yup"...

We all have our first times and nervousness do take place :D
For Francis..probably he's also blur...

With my signature on your marriage certificate...I am SOOOgonna make sure KP is a happy wifey and mommy. Francis...if you're reading this...remember what I told you that day. You don't treat KP nice, I will whack you...with my piano...books! *Roar* :D

Exchanging rings :D Awhs...so sweet~

Koh Ping soooo the-happy~ :D

Mr. & Mrs. Ling

A photo of those who were there (except KP's brother and sister-in-law who isn't in the photo)

After the registration, we went to Old Town nearby JPN in Cheras to have our breakfast :D

Soft boiled eggs...simply can't resist :D

Estee poured damn a lot of 'si yao' and pepper.
She keep saying no taste...! @.@

Anyway...i drove back to BU happily after sending KP back to her place at Cheras...even Estee also said I a bit sot in the car. LOL~~

Broga Hill Trip on Merdeka's Day

Hello to my peeps...how is everyone doing?? :D

Just wanna share some photos on my Broga Hill trip with my good friends over here on Merdeka's Day. It was one of our friend's idea...and instead of going to Sunway Lagoon...we decided to do a healthy activity together. LoL.

Broga hill is situated at Semenyih which is very near to Kajang. It's about 45 minutes drive from PJ. We departed from PJ at around 7am and meet up Casey's cousin, Marcus at Putrajaya and proceed to Semenyih.

Enjoy the photos. ;)

There were 7 of us who went to Brogal hill together - Estee, Rocky, Casey, Hui Xian, Fei Yee and Marcus..ops..and me :P It took about 45 minutes to reach the top of Broga hill.

The route up is pretty easy...but because of my low blood pressure, i felt dizzy half way up and i got to rest a lot of times xD The wind was very cooling and really could enjoy the fresh air there. Luckily it wasn't hot nor there was pouring rain as the weather forecast for that day was to rain.

We were surprised that there were so many people at Broga hill on Merdeka day. Many came down when we were walking up. We assume that a lot went up to witness the sunrise, which most of the people would do that at Broga hill. :D

And there's people actually brought their dogs up too!!
Haha... Look look....with the national flag some more...hou tak yee~~

That's Hui Xian, my younger God sis with someone else's daughter and
someone else's dog called Max. LoL~

That's all of us! Yay~

All the gurlssss with uncle Rocky.

And lastly....scenery from Broga Hill :)
